The Surprising Link Between Masturbation and Prostate Health

A recent study has caught attention by suggesting a rather intriguing correlation between the frequency of masturbation and a potential reduction in the risk of prostate cancer in men. Despite the emergence of trends like "No Nut November," experts are advocating for regular intimate time, claiming it might be beneficial for overall health.

So, how often should men engage in this personal activity? Well, according to research from IFLScience, the magic number is at least 21 times a month. The study, published in European Urology, indicates that reaching this frequency could potentially slash the risk of prostate cancer by up to a third, placing it in the realm of health practices like running and maintaining a balanced diet.

The research, which involved monitoring the behaviors of 31,925 men over 18 months, also proposes that regular masturbation might contribute to removing toxins from the body.

Interestingly, this isn't the only study promoting the idea that regular intimate activities could be advantageous for men's health. While campaigns like No Nut November often claim benefits for physical and mental well-being, urologist Dr. Rena Malik points out that there's no concrete evidence supporting these assertions.

Dr. Malik, referring to a 2016 study from European Urology, highlighted that men in their 20s and 40s who ejaculated more than 21 times a month were potentially at a lower risk of prostate cancer than those who did so less frequently. The reduction of stress and a possible lower risk of prostate cancer were identified as potential benefits of ejaculation.

Additionally, Dr. Malik addressed the unfounded claim that masturbation could lead to decreased sports performance, dismissing it as lacking scientific basis. So, it seems that when it comes to this aspect of men's health, the evidence points towards potential benefits rather than drawbacks.
